Fighting Chance establishes sustainable social enterprises that meet the everyday challenges, hurdles and barriers faced by people living with a disability. We support Fighting Chance by providing capital to enable them to expand on their infrastructure and develop their sustainable business model.
Red Cross supports employment for people living with a disability in their organisation thanks to funding from the Beluga Foundation, covering the cost of disability support staff so disabled candidates can work for the company. Beluga Foundation also updated the infrastructure in the Red Cross building so it is entirely accessible for everyone.
La Trobe University is one of Beluga Foundation’s most powerful partnerships as we fund the university’s clinical trials for a revolutionary new stroke treatment. Our commitment to La Trobe’s research is ongoing as we recognise that pioneering research in scientific areas is a marathon, not a sprint.
10×10 is a venture philanthropy company. Beluga Foundation funds the infrastructure costs of the company so it can develop start-up charities. It was through 10×10 that we developed our partnership with Fighting Chance.
The foundation’s future will remain in the disability sector, prioritising high-impact giving, supporting innovative ventures, encouraging social enterprise to become self-sustaining and inspiring the creation of other family foundations that share our values.
